Henrique Petry Feiler


Henrique was born in Vitoria da Conquista - Bahia/Brazil and lived there until 2008. He then moved to Blumenau – Santa Catarina, and in 2011 Henrique moved to Curitiba - Parana to study Agronomy at the Federal University of Parana (UFPR) in 2011.

Henrique has a lot of work experience in the the field with many crops such as apple, banana, potatoes, palmetto, and grapes. In the university he worked in Nitrogen Fixation Group during 5 years, studying first how, the type 3 secretion system and whole protein from this secretion system in Herbaspirillum rubrisubalbicans, affect sugar cane disease. After that he worked trying to identify new nitrogen fixation bacteria's to Araucarias tree, and trying to see the inhibition of the seed treatment in wheat inoculated with Azospirillum brasilense . He also worked on the description of the nitrogen cycle in soybean in high productivity areas.
Henrique's father is an agronomist and works in the field mainly with potatoes and tomatoes, but he has some experience with fruits too. His mother is teacher. Henrique has a sister who is a journalist and is now studying anthropology. His girlfriend is studying psychology.

Henrique enjoys staying home and read, watch movies and cook. He enjoys the outside as well. It is his goals while at the Commission to improve his English skills and to understand how research works in the USA, beyond understanding the cultivation system of fruits here.
