 Request for Pre-proposals - Cherry

The Washington Tree Fruit Research Commission, in partnership with the Oregon Sweet Cherry Commission, is accepting pre-proposals for new funding consideration for the 2017 Northwest Cherry Research Review. The Review will be held at the Wenatchee Convention Center, November  9, 2016.

Last year, the cherry committees for Oregon and Washington completed an electronic survey of research priority needs for the coming year. The research list went out to the committees again this year and the following additional areas have been added to this list:

  • Research on Alternative Organically approved SWD Options for control (other than Entrust)
  • Crop load management
            Pollination-   1.  Artificial pollination methods
-DNA testing of different methods for efficacy
                                        - Use of PGR’s to increase set

The committees will take research priorities into consideration when reviewing pre-proposals. To view or download the research priorities, click on the link below. All pre-proposals must be submitted using the "Pre-proposal form" which can be found on this website Pre-Proposal form . Complete the required information and submit via email by the deadline date.

Pre-proposal files will be compiled and distributed to the OR and WA cherry committees for review and vote. (Note: pre-proposal submissions are for new proposals only. Continuing and final reports do not require pre-proposal submission.) By September 22, researchers will be notified whether or not they are invited to present their full proposal at the Review.
